  • Thank you for applying with Career Adventures. We are a locally owned and operated business since 1985. We take pride in all of our employees and the excellent job you do. We also take responsibility for you as our employee and want you to rely on us as your employer. Please read the following procedures, to help you understand what is expected from you as a Career Adventures employee.
    Call in Available: After you register with Career Adventures, it’s very important to call in (or “check in” from our app) as available every Monday to keep your file active for job opportunities. ONLY CALL IN ON MONDAYS, AND IF YOU ARE TRULY AVAILABLE. Please notify a Career Adventures Representative if you change your address or phone number.
    Job Offer: After registering with Career Adventures, a job offer is not guaranteed. If we do offer you a job, you aren’t obligated to accept the position. However, if you do accept the job, you are obligated to complete your assignment, or give a proper notice before quitting.
    Job Assignment: It is very important that you complete your assignment. If it is a temp-to-hire position, our client is able to hire you permanently after completing 520 working hours, if they choose to do so. Be prompt to work! There is NO tolerance for being tardy or absent, unless there is an emergency. If you aren’t able to report to work, or running late, you MUST call Career Adventures ASAP, 318-226-9675. It is grounds for termination if you neglect to do so (see Grounds for Termination below). Also, if an emergency arises and you are injured on the job, call a Career Adventures Representative IMMEDIATELY.
    Work Attire: Your image is a reflection on you and our company. Please dress conservatively and appropriately according to your work environment. Proper hygiene is mandatory. Please ask your Career Adventures Representative if you are unsure of the appropriate work attire.
    Time Cards: Time sheets are due every Monday before 10am. They should be submitted to us via email, fax, or dropped off in our deposit slot outside the front door. If the time sheets are late, your check will not be cut until the following pay period. All time sheets must be approved by your supervisor.
    Getting Paid: Our payroll is weekly. Checks are issued every Thursday. Direct deposits are posted on Fridays. You will need to pick up your check here, at our office, between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm with a picture I.D. Please ask your Representative if you work for one of our clients in which the checks are delivered to the job site. If you aren’t able to pick up your check and you would like someone else to pick it up for you, please ask our Receptionist for a Check Release Authorization Form.
    Grounds for Termination:
    • Poor performance evaluation or insubordination.
    • No call, no show on an assignment or a job interview.
    • Excessive absentees or tardiness.
    • Discussion of salary with other employees.
    • Violation of our clients’ or Career Adventures’ policies or procedures.
    • Not contacting a Career Adventures Representative after completing an assignment will be considered voluntary termination.

    Vacation: Employees receive a vacation bonus of $200 after 12 months of service if he/she has worked a minimum of 2,000 hours on the same assignment. Any bonus will be paid after the anniversary date.
    Employee/Client Referral Hours: Refer a friend to Career Adventures and receive a BONUS after they have completed 80 hours on our payroll. Bonuses will be paid for each job referral by Career Adventures.

  • CAREER ADVENTURES LLC POLICIES

    A temporary help service is a business providing assistance to customers in the handling of excess or special workloads. To do this, it assigns its own employees to assist the customers. I understand and agree that I will be contacted on an as need basis.
    I UNDERSTAND THAT NOT SHOWING UP FOR AN ASSIGNMENT WITHOUT PROPER AND TIMELY NOTIFICATION IS AUTOMATIC TERMINATION AND I WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT BE REHIRED. I understand and agree that the term of my employment shall be limited to the duration of any temporary assignment and will not guarantee a 40-hour week or a full time permanent position.
    I agree to report my hours correctly and to notify Career Adventures immediately when my job assignment is complete and report my availability for work. If unemployed I agree to report to Career Adventures each week thereafter on Mondays by calling a Career Adventures’ Representative at 318-226-9675. My failure to report my availability will PREVENT me from obtaining unemployment benefits.
    I also authorize Career Adventure Temporaries in investigate records of my past employment and a criminal background check.
    I certify that all the information given is true and correct to the best of my knowledge. Any false statement can and will result in my termination.
  • NO WEAPONS POLICY
    Career Adventures, LLC prohibits persons who are contract and/or temporary employees while at work from carrying a handgun, firearm, illegal knives, or other weapons covered by the law. (Legal chemical dispensing devices such as pepper sprays that are sold commercially for personal protection are not covered by this policy.)
    Violations: Failure to abide by all terms and conditions to this policy described above may result in termination. Further, carrying a weapon on Career Adventures and/or any affiliate client companies’ property in violation of this policy will be considered an act of criminal trespass, will be grounds for immediate removal from said properties, and may result in prosecution.
    Acknowledgment I hereby acknowledge that I have read and understand Career Adventures, LLC.’s “No Weapons Policy.” I understand that engaging in prohibited behavior under the policy may result in discipline, up to and including immediate removal from Career Adventures and/or its affiliate client company’s premises, termination and legal action. I agree to uphold career Adventures, LLC.’s “No Weapons Policy.”
  • CAREER ADVENTURES TEMPORARY DIVISION

    SUBSTANCE ABUSE POLICY
    Career Adventures, LLC. implements this substance abuse policy in order to maintain safety for its employees, clients, and the general public; to maintain security of property or information; to maintain productivity and quality of services; to investigate possible employee impairment; and to investigate accidents in the workplace or incidents of workplace theft. This policy is intended to comply with the provisions of the Louisiana Drug Testing Act, La. R.S. 49:1111, and shall be interpreted at all times so to comply with that statute.
    STATEMENT OF POLICY
    The use, possession, concealment, transportation, promotion or sale of illegal drugs, controlled substances or alcohol by any employee is strictly prohibited on all company premises.
    Also prohibited is being at work or reporting for work with sufficient quantity of any drug in the employee’s system to cause the employee to be considered under the influence or impaired or to cause a positive test result in a urinalysis or blood test for drugs or alcohol.
    The company may utilize a Urine Drug Screen Test or other approved medial testing procedures to help in the control or detection of drug or alcohol usage. These tests may be utilized in, but are not limited to, the following circumstances:
    (1) When the company has reasonable suspicion that an employee is using illegal or unauthorized drugs or alcohol; (2) When an employee is found in possession of suspected illegal or unauthorized drugs or alcohol; (3) Following a serious accident potentially serious accident or “near/miss” in which careless acts were performed; (4) As part of the preemployment application process when implemented; and (5) By the random testing of employees.
    When any of the above actions are required, all testing will be conducted in accordance with applicable law by an approved medical testing laboratory with appropriate chain-of-custody procedures in place to insure continuity in specimen collection, handling, transfer, and storage, and which possesses any certification required by law. The results of urine specimen testing will be considered positive only in the event that both method, such as GCMS, show the presence of the test will be kept confidential and will normally be known only to management personnel in the particular decision-making chain and to the employee(s) tested except when the Company has privilege or a duty to release such information such as to the Louisiana Office of Employment Security.
    A Medical Review Officer will be designated to review drug test results and to confer with tested employees if necessary about the test results.
    An employee who violates this policy or who refuses to submit to a search or inspection or to a urine drug screen or other approved medical testing procedures, or is found as a result of such tests to have quantity of any illegal substance sufficient to cause the employee to be under the influence, to be impaired, or to cause a positive test result in a urinalysis or blood test for drugs or alcohol, will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including discharge. Compliance with this policy and program is condition of employment.
    Violations of this policy, including refusal to provide specimens, also may be a basis under the law for disqualification form unemployment benefits or workers’ compensation benefits or workers’ compensation benefits. Further information or explanation regarding this policy is available at Career Adventures, LLC office. This policy is effective July 20, 1992, with testing to begin August 20, 1992, as required.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
    I have read and understood SUBSTANCE ABUSE POLICY and by continuing to be an employee of Career Adventures, LLC. I agree to submit to all of the requirements (including Blood Alcohol and Urine Drug Screening). I understand that compliance with this POLICY is a condition of my employment with this company. I further agree to comply with the substance abuse and search policies of customers of the Company. I understand that disciplinary action up to and including discharge will be taken if I am found in violation of the POLICY.

    1. HARASSMENT POLICY:

    It is the policy of Career Adventures, LLC, to prohibit any form of sexual or racial harassment of employees and applicants. Positive action shall be taken to insure that all supervisory personnel and all employees comply with the efforts to make our work environment free from harassment.
    1. Prohibited sexual harassment includes unwelcome sexual advances, request for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that occurs with any or all the following conditions:
      1. When submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of an individual’s employment.
      2. When submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for employment decisions affecting the individual.
      3. When such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment.
    2. Prohibited racial harassment includes racial slurs or other conduct based upon race which has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment.

    • COMPLAINT PROCEDURE:

    It is the responsibility of any employee who encounters unwelcome harassment or discrimination of any type first to tell party to cease behavior and then inform Randy Miller.
    1. HIRING:

    Filling out all paper work including tax forms and I-9 form does not necessarily indicate that you are hired by Career Adventures, LLC or any affiliates.
    1. ENFORCEMENT AND DISCIPLINE:

    1. After an investigation, immediate and appropriate corrective action will be taken with respect to any violations of this policy.
    2. Depending upon the circumstances, violations of this policy may warrant discipline, up to and including discharge of the offending employee.
